A painter, graphic artist, and designer, he began his studies at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto (1954–1955). After relocating to the United States, he attended Wayne State University from 1955 to 1960. He worked as a stylist designer at Chrysler Corporation (1955–1975) and later as an advertising illustrator-designer at General Motors Company (1976–1989).
