Trained at the Lyceum of Fine Arts and the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts he developed an independent realist style in defiance of socialist realism. After immigrating to the US he later designed the Ukrainian Catholic Museum in Rome. He reimagined images of Ukrainian history such as Prince Sviatoslav.
